Liberal Heavyweights As MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Arianna Huffington And Others Abandon Obama For Poor Performance And Deceptive Rhetoric

Obama once very much appealed to me in the days of my early acquaintance with him, where I first learned of this freshman Senator from Illinois who had visited his homeland in Kenya. I thought he was interesting and a new fresh face as I watched him in CNN documentaries walking around in his white shirt and tie in Kenyan villages, and remember shouting to family members to come watch with me.  In the very early stages of his campaign his ideas sounded fresh and contrasted starkly with ‘same old’ Washington D.C. news.  After his election no one thought we’d ever see the day when the overwhelming 2008 rock star support for this relatively inexperienced but enthusiastic newcomer named Barack Obama would erode .. but erode it hasAfter giving Obama two years to prove himself after the election, what I observed was a shocking and continual erosion of virtually every aspect of our country, ranging from foreign policy to Executive behavior with our Constitution to the economy.  The rapidly climbing national debt and President Obama’s spending habits were immediate red flags, which had me riveted with disbelief and shock as I could not believe what was happening before my eyes. My disbelief turned to extreme concern for our very national security.  For someone who has the power to change things for the better but failed to do so, President Obama lost my support 100%, and this is why ..

Obama’s FY2013 Budget (

1) adds 11 trillion dollars to the national debt over 10 years (,

2) means total government spending over the next 10 years will be $47 trillion dollars,

3) and adds 1.9 trillion dollars in new taxes on families, small businesses and job creators.

On top of that the national debt accrued during the President’s first term will be $6.4 trillion dollars and the national debt at the end of FY 2022 is projected to be upwards of $25.9 trillion dollars (

President Obama added as much to the national debt as all prior Presidents from George Washington to George H. W. Bush (senior), combined. (Source:, Obama Has Now Increased Debt More than All Presidents from George Washington Through George H.W. Bush Combined,  MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said in a recent interview that President Obama has a clear lack of accomplishment, he gives us nothing to root for, he wonders why Obama wants a second term and says he has no clear plan on dealing with long term debt (  Does that look like an endorsement or support?

Want a reality check on President Obama’s deceptive rhetoric?  And sorry to say, yes, it IS deceptive.  He’s constantly telling the American people ‘the rich need to pay their fair share’, yet IRS data VERIFIES (on a government web site) that the top 10% pay 70% of income taxes > Click ‘Summary of Federal Individual Income Tax Data’ and you’ll see the bare numbers right there, plain as day.  (, scroll down to Table 6)  Arianna Huffington said once that during his speeches President Obama hopes most of his audience hadn’t been keeping up with the news. (

WE DON’T HAVE THE MONEY that President Obama’s FY2013 Budget ( outlines, neither in tax revenue, or in borrowing power from China nor in the Federal Reserve printing press.  What is it that President Obama doesn’t get about our economy?  WE DON’T HAVE A TAX PROBLEM, WE HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM (  If you can’t grasp the enormity of these numbers, try this:

    Why S&P Downgraded the US:
    U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
    Federal budget: $3,820,000,000,000
    New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
    National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
Recent [April] budget cut: $ 38,500,000,000

Let’s remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget:
    Annual family income: $21,700
    Money the family spent: $38,200
New debt on the credit card: $16,500
Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
    Budget cuts: $385

These are just the facts from the ‘big boards’ of non-partisan entities like the IRS and the Congressional Budget Office .. no spin, just the facts.  No wonder there’s a growing list of liberals (and liberal youth) scrutinizing the facts and abandoning President Obama.  They include:

Arianna Huffington, founder of the Huffington Post
Chris Matthews of MSNBC
Oprah Winfrey
Jay-Z, rapper
Matt Damon, actor
Janeane Garofalo, comedian and activist
Maxine Waters, Congresswoman (D - CA)
Barney Frank, Congressman (D-MA)

Here’s a sample of what a few of them have expressed (references to full stories listed below):

Arianna Huffington >
- Lack of trust from listening to constant rhetoric that never delivers

Chris Matthews (MUST SEE VIDEO BELOW) >
- A clear lack of accomplishment, nothing to root for, wondering why Obama wants a second term .. “Is this as good as it gets?”
- Obama is too ‘virtual’ (lazy?) with reliance on social networking and therefore has forged no alliances with Congress, a complete detachment from communicating and working with Congress
- No clear plan on tax reform, and entitlement reforms with health care and social security
- No clear plan on dealing with long term debt

Oprah Winfrey >
- Declining television ratings after publicly endorsing Obama
