Jon Lovitz Defends Obama Criticism: ‘Last I Checked, He’s President, Not King!’
April 29 2012
“Saturday Night Live” alum Jon Lovitz has taken to Twitter to defend comments he recently made about President Barack Obama.
During a podcast recorded in January, Lovitz joked that Obama is “a f*cking a**hole” for “saying the rich don’t pay their taxes.” Filmmaker Kevin Smith co-hosted the episode of “The ABC’s of SNL,” which wasn’t released online until last week.
Lovitz sent a series of tweets early Sunday morning defending his rant and hitting back at those who took issue with his criticisms. Most notable is a tweet in which the comedian wrote, “Last I checked, he’s President, not King!”:

Comedian Jon Lovitz: Obama Lying About the Rich
May 7 2012
DR. DREW PINSKY: Oh, you called him a name.
LOVITZ: Yes. ‘Cause he’s lying.
DR. DREW PINSKY: About taxes.
LOVITZ: About saying that people in a certain tax bracket don’t pay their fair share of taxes. That’s not true. 47% of the country doesn’t pay any taxes because they can’t afford it and they have deductions.
DR. DREW PINSKY: Right.
LOVITZ: So you have in a—$250,000 or more, you have a 35 percent federal tax and in California you have another 11 percent, that’s 46 percent. You have property tax, you have city tax, you have FICA, you have sales tax—
DR. DREW PINSKY: What I hear is you’re a fat cat—
LOVITZ: —And then you have deductions
DR. DREW PINSKY: You’re a fat cat and you’re complaining and that’s what you’re saying.
LOVITZ: No, I’m not saying that. I’m not complaining about the taxes I pay. What I don’t like is him saying those people in that category who came from nothing and worked hard and made something of themselves are now, they’re not paying their fair share of taxes. It’s like the 1 percent versus the 99 percent.

Jon Lovitz Doubles Down on Obama-Bashing
May 9 2012
Last night on Piers Morgan’s show, Jon Lovitz made it clear he has no intention of backing down from his recent rant against President Obama. “Yes, I did mean what I said,” said Lovitz, referring to his comments that Obama’s claim that “the rich don’t pay their taxes is fucking bullshit.” There is no “1% versus the 99%,” Lovitz said last night, according to Politico and Mediaite. “There’s nobody that’s wealthy saying, ‘Let’s go get the people that aren’t.’ … He’s creating a false class warfare.”
Lovitz gave quite a lengthy explanation of why the idea that the rich aren’t paying their “fair share” is not true. “Don’t tell me I’m not paying my fair share when, between federal, state, property tax, FICA, and everything, I’m paying at least 50%,” he added. As for Wall Street, he places some of the blame for the housing crisis there, but he also noted, “Some people they got housing loans, I think they’re responsible for taking a loan they didn’t qualify for.”

Lovitz is Livid - O’Reilly Factor - 5-9-12
May 9 2012
At 4:28 in the video, hear John Lovitz, a Hollywood liberal, a Democrat, who voted for Barack Obama in 2008, tell the world Barack Obama is divisive and a liar when it comes to Obama’s mantra ‘the rich are not paying their fair share’. Not only this, but Lovitz acknowledges that most of his liberal friends .. AGREE.
(O’Reilly) “The reaction to you .. you live in Hollywood, you know, you’re in the show business world. Ah, most people there support Barack Obama. And they not only support him, they idolize him. Umm, what kind of reaction have you gotten from this?”
(Lovitz) “A, well, almost everybody agrees with me.”
(Lovitz) “Yes, and most of my friends are Democrats. You know, I’m a Democrat. But, a yeah, they agree. They say ‘hey I work really hard, I pay a lot of taxes’. It’s because it’s not true. You know, and I think it’s just a divisive way to appeal to the masses to get votes and it’s just blatant obvious. There is no versus. No one’s trying to hurt people who are in a lower income tax bracket. We should all be helping each other, and bringing everybody together.”
